I checked out some of the music and you have a nice voice and I'm feeling this hip hop twang ya got who are some of your musical influences?


Michael and Janet Jackson are pioneers in music and I love their energy. They've both inspired me a lot throughout my Iifetime. They're trendsetters, and they're both amazing artists and performers. They're dedication to their craft is undeniable. They've really inspired me to be creative. I love and enjoy music so much that I listen to almost every genre and gain inspiration from the different moods and sounds. Love is still love whether it's being expressed in Italian, Spanish, or English. In my iPod you'll find Pop, Rock, Classical music, Hip-Hop, Rap, R&B, Reggaeton, Bachata, Merengue.... even some Country music.

　

You got a Chrisette Michele vibe to ya ,,,,who are some of the artist you have been compared to.....?

I'm most compared to Aaliyah, Alicia Keys, and Mariah Carey. I haven't heard Chrisette yet. I enjoy her music and think she's very talented so thank you.

　

I see you been through some adversity with a car accident that almost prevented you from being able to sing ever again.....how were you able to bounce back from this and have the courage to record....?

My family and friends uplifted me through prayer and words of encouragement. Music inspired me to stay positive. I was strong willed and resilient to allowing the situation to kill my spirit. I just kept hanging on, believing things would eventually get better and kept hoping for the best. I never gave up---much easier said than done but dying just wasn't an option. I couldn't quit on myself. I struggled, and eventually I emerged, and rose above it like a warrior after a long and weary battle.

　

In this highly critical industry .....what are some of the challenges that you have encountered that may have slowed your rise through the ranks of the unknown...?

Jealousy... envy... they're like a disease and they exist everywhere and influence people to do crazy things. Gossip is like cancer. I just ignore it. I think people will soon realize you can close doors but I will always build windows of opportunity. Few things phase me. There's no time. No successful persons FIRST, and ORIGINAL plan is the one that got them to their final goal. So I view the challenges, not as challenges, but hurdles... bumps in the road, to be maneuvered around as I continue moving forward.

　

Me being an underground artist I reach out to do collabos a lot...how would someone get to do a collab wit you if they like your voice and want you on a track...?

Are you married ..../single.../in a relationship...the people want to know?

Yes, I'm married.... to my music. *laughs* I know the hearts of my male fans sunk for a second. Seriously though, have you seen Forbes magazine lately? I want to land in there. Everyone's priorities are different but that's the cover I want. Beyonce, Mariah Carey ...they focused wholeheartedly on their careers and then everything else fell right into place. Women naturally feel to settle down and have a family. I'll focus on that when I'm ready for it. Music is my everything, so I gotta give it my all. Thanks to my parents I have good genes, as long as I exercise and eat right I'll be forever young. *smiles*

　

Has twitter helped you to connect and network wit any major players in the industry?

Most definitely. Hence the name, the "Oprah of Twitter." I'm constantly networking with business people and major players in the industry across the world. I keep it in my dm's though. I'm a very private person. Twitter is where people love to watch you.... constantly. I'm making my way to TV too so being watched is good. You need fans. We can't all be chiefs, we need some Indians.

　

For someone who knows nothing about you.... what is one or two things you would want them to know most about you?

That I keep a positive attitude and I'm a very determined individual. In math the plus sign (positive) is when things add up and increase. The minus sign (negative) is when things are taken away and decrease. Outside negativity may take away from me but by remaining positive my numbers always add up to success. Determined people, are usually creative thinkers. You ever hear the phrase "just build a bridge and get over it"? People with positive attitudes that are highly determined are like architects. We constantly build windows of opportunity, and build bridges that allow us to bridge gaps between us and our goals, as well as to pass over any obstacles. To someone that knows nothing about me that tells them a lot.

　

Who do you think has the number one spot in the game and who folk should be gunning for in the genre you are in?

This is a tough question... Shakira can fold her body like origami when she dances, Melanie Fiona's voice blows you away, Alicia Keys is quite the musician and her voice is charming.... Some may disagree with me on this but.... Beyonce is killing it and here are my reasons... when you're talking about NUMBER ONE you have to criticize and compare all aspects and give each artist a score. When you compare the start of her career to where she is now, she show's the most improvement. She's a vocalist and true performer. She shows you her versatility when she stepped out of R&B and got into some opera on Ave Maria. From her videos you can tell she spends time working on her acting as well. I really commend her. She works hard, and every time she comes out with something new she steps it up even more. I bet if I asked her who she's been competing with and she'll probably say herself. When you realize you're your own competition there'll be no stopping you. To answer your question who am I gunning for? Me, of course. It starts by being your toughest critic, your number one fan. Remember I said that.

　

Have you performed in different cities...if so....which ones?

I haven't performed in different cities yet which makes this a very exciting year for me. I will be performing in NJ, CT, ATL, FL, and NC so far. There's also talk of opening up for a concert in Russia. All show dates and locations will be posted on my new website iamGABRIELLEWHITE.com which will have it's official launch very soon.

　

What is your favorite movie....and what was the best movie you saw in 2009?

I get it down to one so I'll give the five I really enjoyed. Seven Pounds with Will Smith had me crying. It was so profound the way the story line came together at the end, and I enjoyed watching Finding Forrestor. I Can Do Bad All By Myself by Tyler Perry made me laugh, cry, and laugh some more. I think every woman can get a thing or two out of the movie He's Just Not That Into You, and I really loved the last Transformers movie. Bumble Bee is my favorite character I cheer for him a lot.

　

What cd is bumping in your car right now?

Trey Songz!! And I am loving every track. I'm so glad I bought it.

　

Who you got the Colts or Saints?

Awww, I don't follow football too closely. I catch a few games during the season, and I watch the superbowl every year. I'm more into basketball, and my favorite team is whichever one my cousin is playing for. Last year I was a die hard Bulls fan and I tweeted the play by play of the playoffs, this year I'm a die hard Pistons fan. It sounds a little biased but he's family. I'm very proud of his many accomplishments both on the court and in the community. Way to go B.G.!!!

　

What would you like to say so anybody who has been through some of the adversity you have faced and is struggling can get through it ...?

That it CAN and WILL get better. When you reach that overwhelming point and feel you're ready to give up, right when you feel as though you've reached the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on!!! I promise you, that'll be your breakthrough moment that proves to yourself that you're stronger than you think. It will be so memorable, and it will inspire you for a lifetime than you can and will make it through anything that comes your way.

Lazy is a Disease

Cure for laziness is oh so necesarry.......there is a simple solution......so why are we afraid.....I know......we are afraid of what we dont know......this creates doubt......worry....and this does not coincide with faith.......it is hard to pray without faith....prayer must be specific......e.g. "Lord please cure me of this disease of procrastination and down right laziness...."

Mayweather vs Mosley who you got?

This is the fight the fans have really been waiting for a long time now.....Things really got heated after the last Mayweather fight when he outclassed....the mexican people champ and said to be at the time one of the best pound for pound fighters (mainly cause he gave Manny all he could handle) Juan Manuel Marquez....afterwards during the post fight interview...."Sugar" Shane Mosley stepped into the ring and called him out.....He disrespected Mayweather at this point if you ask me....Mayweather has tried to get this fight for ten years.....once in 1999 and another time in 2006...now the shoe is on the other foot and Mayweather is the attraction....Mosley wants him to just jump up and fight him on request....This is not how things work in the world of boxing....gone are the days where fighters have no say so in the Promotion of the fight....Oscar De La Hoya has changed things dramatically for fighters in terms of how they are promoted and get paid.....now the time is right ....everything has fallen into place....Manny was apparently juicin....so he didn't want to take a blood test....Floyd has set a new standard to assure we are seeing clean fights...and has ask for blood test....is there really something wrong with that.....No!!!!!!......I just want to no what the Mayweather haters are going to say after he outclasses "Sugar" ....one of the best in the game....I can't wait....May 1st its going down.... check this link http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=4884208

Floyd "Money" Mayweather

Floyd "Money" Mayweather must fight "Sugar" Shane Mosley......Sugar has signed and money Mayweather still has not signed.....the promo is too start on Superbowl Sunday the biggest promo day in the world.....if Floyd about money he will sign and be at the Superbowl in Miami.....I am a big Mayweather fan but he doesn't take this fight I'm done....

Black History Month
